Definition

Remote Gaming Duty is the UK HMRC tax on Gross Gaming Revenue from UK-resident customers for remote casino-style gambling. The rate rose from 15% to 21% on 1 October 2023 and to 40% on 1 April 2026 under the Autumn Budget of 26 November 2025. RGD does not apply to sports betting, which falls under General Betting Duty (15%, with a 25% remote-betting rate from April 2027 except horse racing).
