The UK Government's April 2023 White Paper "High Stakes — Gambling Reform for the Digital Age" introduced the most substantive iGaming regulatory reform package since the 2005 Gambling Act. As implemented by 2026: light-touch financial vulnerability checks at GBP 150 net deposits a month (from 28 February 2025; the enhanced check stayed a pilot), online slots stake limits of GBP 5 and GBP 2 for under-25s (April-May 2025), the statutory levy from April 2025, and bonus rules from 19 January 2026.
