Definition
The UK Gambling Commission is the regulator established under the Gambling Act 2005 (as amended by the Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act 2014). UKGC authorisation is required for any operator transacting with UK-resident customers regardless of where the operator is established. The 2023 White Paper reforms substantially expanded UKGC consumer-protection requirements.
