Class B bookmaker's licence (Cyprus) (Class B)
Cyprus's online betting licence: sports and event betting on a .com.cy domain, one or two years, EUR 30,000 / 45,000, EUR 500,000 capital and EUR 550,000 guarantee, 15% of net revenue; no casino games.
Definition
Under s.16(2)(b) of the Betting Law 37(I)/2019 a Class B bookmaker's licence authorises the provision of electronic betting services, excluding slot machines, online casino games and electronic horse-racing betting. The applicant must be a company limited by shares incorporated in Cyprus or abroad with a Cyprus branch, with betting as its main activity, EUR 500,000 of issued and paid-up capital and a EUR 550,000 bank guarantee valid until six months after the licence ends (s.32); a backup server mirroring the main server must sit in Cyprus. The fee is EUR 30,000 for one year or EUR 45,000 for two (R.A.A. 84/2019), refunded less 25% on refusal. Licensees pay 10% betting tax plus a 5% contribution on net revenue monthly, keep their .com.cy domain on the NBA register, and are subject to the Code of Advertising and the blocking list of unlicensed sites. Thirteen companies held Class B licences in the first quarter of 2026.
